How do you verify a mill certificate is genuine?

We received an EN 10204 3.1 certificate that looks right, but the heat number cannot be found on the mill's website. How do buyers actually verify these?

Contact the mill's export or QA department directly with the heat number — not the trader. Ask for the certificate from the mill's own system, and compare the stamp/signature details against a known-good certificate from the same mill.
