EN 10204 3.1 certificate: fields to verify
Heat number, chemical composition, mechanical properties, heat treatment and signatory.
A 3.1 certificate is signed by the manufacturer's authorised inspection representative and must match the order, grade and standard. Key fields: - Heat number: must be traceable to melting records and identical across the batch. - Chemical composition: verify C, Cr, Ni and Mo against the standard range. - Mechanical properties: yield, tensile and elongation. Check sampling direction and heat treatment condition. - Heat treatment: solution annealed, annealed or hard-rolled, which directly affects forming performance. - Standard statement and signatory: standard number, revision, signature and date must all be present. Common risks: heat number mismatch with physical material, blank mechanical property fields, and a 2.2 certificate presented as 3.1.
